Diamond Shapes
The Princess cut is a favourite for engagement rings. It is our most popular diamond cut, after round. The princess is traditionally square in shape, with pointed corners. Princess cut diamonds can vary greatly in how square or rectangular they are. Look at the length to width ratio to determine how square the diamond is. For a square shape, look at length to width ratios between 1 and 1.05. For a more rectangular shape, look for length to width ratios above 1.10. When choosing a colour grade for a princess cut diamond, the J colour will offer excellent value, but keep in mind that colour may show in the corners.
