The length of the marquise diamond makes fingers look long and slender. The shape of the marquise can really get the most out of the carat weight, and the diamond may look larger than it actually is. Try the marquise in a setting with round, or pear shaped stones. The length to width ratio of a marquise diamond will determine how it looks from the top. The most traditional marquise diamonds have length to width ratios between 1.75 and 2.25.
