Cleaning - Diamonds over a period of time will often collect a build up of dirt such as perfume, dust, natural skin oils. These tend to dull down the brilliance of a diamond. To clean a diamond is easy one method is to us a fine brush such as a toothbrush with dishwashing liquid detergent on it. Gentle rub round the diamond making sure the brush is always lubricated. This will remove the dirt.
Servicing and professional cleaning - It is recommended that diamond jewellery is professional serviced and cleaned every 6 – 12 months ( or if it receives a knock ) . This will ensure that the diamond is tight and secure in the setting and avoid any unnecessary loss of your diamond.
Storage - As diamonds are the hardest substance on earth they can scratch other diamonds and other gemstones/ jewellery. To prevent this common cause of damage it is recommended that diamond jewellery should be stored in individual soft pouches when not being worn.
